We invite you to stay at Southlynne - Art Deco house, Launceston.
A little bit of art deco luxury goes a long way ...
Situated a few minutes’ drive from central Launceston, Southlynne is perfect as a lush retreat to stay for a few days while exploring beautiful Northern Tasmania, or stay longer if you wish.
Staying at Southlynne means:
Insanely comfortable beds – a king in the master and long singles in the second bedroom.
Enjoy your breakfast while you plan your day, or don’t … just let the day unfold.
Launceston tap water is delicious, honestly! You’ll find a crystal jug in the fridge. We like to avoid the bottled variety.
Heating and air conditioning.
Free wifi – but we understand if you’d like to ignore the rest of the world.

THINGS TO DO
The Tamar Valley has many boutique wineries to enjoy tastings, platters or lunches. If you contact us we will organize a tour for you with our favourite tour operator– with your personal preferences in mind. You will be collected from Southlynne and dropped back at the end of the day. Just let us know prior to your arrival.
Design Tasmania, which is adjacent to City Park in central Launceston, showcases the work of Tasmanian artisans and craftsmen – including timber, glassware and pottery. Nice to browse or to purchase a special item as a reminder of your visit.
A visit to Launceston’s stunning Cataract Gorge is a must do. This magic wilderness area is just 15 minutes walk from Launceston’s CBD. You will find a couple of restaurants, various walking options and a chairlift to get a birds eye view of this unique area.
Launceston’s City Park has an unexpected attraction. A group of Japanese Macaque monkeys call City Park home. Stroll through of John Hart Conservatory or enjoy a coffee at Victoria’s at the Albert Hall.
If you happen to be in Launceston on a Saturday morning, our award winning Harvest Market is well worth a visit. Opening between 8.30 and 12.30 you will find local producers selling their fresh and amazing produce. Grab a coffee and a French pastry, listen to the buskers and take in the ambience. A favourite destination for locals.
Located near the Launceston Airport, and the historic village of Evandale, The Tasmanian Gourmet Sauce Company produces on-site a range of Tasmanian condiments, jams and sauces available to purchase. Wander through their Topiary gardens, enjoy a garden tour or simply have a taste of their beautiful conserves.
